"An American Lent" 2022: Church of Harrisonburg Initiative

An invitation to take up the call for the church to prioritize Racial Healing in our community during Lent 2022 through prayer, study, conversation, and lamentation.

Please register** using the blue button above to acknowledge your desire to participate in "An American Lent" with other Shenandoah Valley area communities from March 2 - April 17th, 2022.

As part of this journey together, you are invited to...

• AAL Info & Facilitators Workshop:  Feb 16th, 4-5 pm via Zoom
• Ash Wednesday Service at the Corhaven Graveyard:  March 2nd, 4-5pm, in-person only
• Follow along with and reflect on the daily devotions found in "An American Lent"
• Weekly Sm group Conversations about what we're learning, happening through one of these two options: 
  • Sm groups hosted and organized by your own church community or organization
  • virtually through Coracle (via Zoom) 4 pm - 5 pm every Wednesday from March 2 - April 13 
• Respond to weekly email updates from Ken Wettig (Coracle's Community Minister for the Shenandoah Valley) with what you're learning and considering
• Lamentation Walk– Historic Newtown to Downtown Harrisonburg:  April 14th, 12-1:30pm, in-person only

**On the second page of the registration, you will see boxes that correspond to each part of the American Lent journey as described here, as well as two boxes that have to do with small groups, marked Option 1 and Option 2.  Please put a check next to each event that you plan on attending, as well as a check next to ONE of the two options for small groups.  We will follow up with you about small groups based on whether you selected Option 1 or Option 2, and also communicate details about the upcoming events to you based on which ones you indicate you will attend in your registration.
