Community Work Day - MLK, Jr Event

C O M M U N I T Y   W O R K   D A Y

20 January 2020, 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

You are invited to help local master gardeners (volunteers through the Virginia extension office) with site work at Corhaven Graveyard, 2883 Quicksburg Rd, Quicksburg VA on MLK, Jr Day. Martin Luther King, Jr, said, "All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence." Come and participate in the good work at Corhaven Graveyard, a place that remembers and honors the dignity of Americans once enslaved on a local plantation.

At this Community Work Day, help place hardwood mulch for walking paths through the graveyard and incorporate a stone walkway around the informational kiosk. The day begins with a brief tour, and then continues with hands-on work in the garden space, Circle Process reflection, and a simple meal together for lunch.
