Description

On April 16, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr wrote a heartfelt letter addressed to “My Dear Fellow Clergymen”.  This letter has come to be known as  “Letter from Birmingham Jail” and is one of King’s  most read works.  In the letter, he not only touches on a number of points connected to the Civil Rights Movement, he also draws his audience back to the tenets of Christian faith and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  In the book Why We Can’t Wait, King illustrates the context which leads up to events which land him in the Birmingham jail.  The concluding chapters of the book give hope for a future where all people are valued and afforded the same opportunities to thrive.  Join us as we host a six week virtual book study through Why We Can’t Wait.  This book study will be punctuated by facilitated times of thoughtful reflection and deep discussion.  We will begin Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 7pm.
