Description

In the last year, we've seen with greater clarity and great sorrow how the very atmosphere of the White Evangelical movement can malform sincere followers of Jesus and create damaging environments for many people, especially women and people of color. The maladies that afflict this particular expression of the Christian faith have their roots in the movement's formative years and need to be honestly indentified so lament can be made and repentance committed to, or healing to occur, Jesus to have a fuller witness and people within in can encounter him more fully.

We are grateful for more conversations, increased awareness, and insightful analyses that are being offered about issues of Christian nationalism, racism and white supremacy and patriarchy. Still we have noticed that these three threads are less often talked about in the same conversation and also that there is less time spent on finding paths forward for healing. We hope that this conference and conversation can offer all of this and be something more than only critique.

Join us for something different, for something we hope can be at least deeply encouraging if not transforming. While we will identify and explore these issues that plague the church, we won’t stop there. Rather we’ll move towards hope and healing, with opportunities for spiritual practice along the way. In view of the sicknesses that afflict the Body of Christ in America, we feel called to walk into the light and toward Jesus for our own healing and for the sake of others, and we invite you to come with us.

Join us online for 5 hours of diagnosis, treatment, and healing in an interactive environment with diverse speakers including Natasha Sistrunk Robinson, Greg Thompson, Mariah Humphries, Carolyn Custis James and David Swanson. We will listen, learn, ask questions, share thoughts and wrestle together. We hope you join us!
