Walking St. Cuthbert's Way

The trip will begin with your arrival in Edinburgh airport as close to 11:30 am as possible on June 18, 2022. You can plan your departure from Edinburgh any time of day on June 29, 2022. The cost of the trip will be $950 for double occupancy and $1300 for single occupancy. You will be responsible for arranging your airfare, lunch and dinner all days except for the stay on Lindisfarne (also known as Holy Island). We will walk a total of 62 miles over the course of 6 days staying at bed and breakfasts along the route each evening.  The first two days and the final day of walking are lighter with three significant days of more strenuous walking in the middle. The terrain is hilly and includes four climbs of 300-400 meters. We will carry or buy our lunches along the way and eat dinner together each night in local pubs and restaurants. A luggage service will transport our bags between stays.

Itinerary

June 18 - arrive in Edinburgh in the morning. Travel and overnight in Melrose to begin walking the next day

June 19 - Begin our journey walking 7.5 miles and staying overnight in Jedburgh

June 20 - We walk 7.5 miles also staying overnight in Jedburgh

June 21 - We walk 17 miles and overnight in Kirk Yetholm

June 22 -  We walk 12 miles and overnight in Wooler

June 23  - We walk 12 miles and also overnight in Wooler

June 24 - We walk 6 miles and begin our two night stay on Lindisfarne

June 25 - Retreat day on Lindisfarne

June 26 - Wrap up on Lindisfarne and begin traveling back to Edinburgh when the trip concludes. You are free to depart the group that afternoon.  You are free to continue your journey in the UK or overnight in Edinburgh and fly home the next day.

Payment Details

• A $500 non-refundable deposit per-person is due by October 15, 2021 to reserve a spot.
• The balance of $450 ($800 if single occupancy) will be due by April 1st, 2022. 
  • A small processing fee of 3% will be added for credit card payments. 
  • This fee is not necessary if you pay by check.
• If paying online, please designate that you are making a donation for the St. Cuthbert’s Pilgrimage. 
• Checks can be made to "Coracle" and sent to the following address with St. Cuthbert’s Pilgrimage in the memo line.
